Laptop's battery isn't charging. It's OK when plugged in (ie I can use it) but it's not charging. Its on;y a few months old.

Anyone know more than me?

My DH's last laptop was the same, it had a dodgy battery. His work swapped it for a new one.

It must still be under guarantee then if it's new ? I'd contact the manufacturer and explain the prob.

Try taking the battery out and reinserting it. If no joy, then it's knackered. Get it replaced under warranty. Laptop batteries (and ones for Ipods, mobile phones, etc) are notoriously pretty rubbish.

the laptop or the battery is a few months old?
most companies do not cover batteries under warrenty (as these things go). but it might be worth giving them a call and asking them what to try.

Charge memory, manufacturing fault, lots of things could be causing it. try the guarantee but if no success, consider shopping around for the new one- prices vary massively (we buy all our batteries for rechargeable purposes from maplins but don't know if they do laptop)

The battery should be covered for the first year, under warranty, the laptop will be 3 years.
