Can anyone recommend a book on teaching Toddlers to swim? She's 2.7 and at the stage of jumping in, swimming about on armbands, blowing bubbles and pushing off the wall.

TIA

Thanks Snailspace, that's helpful. I used to be a competitive swimmer and taught 5+ year olds myself (but never did a qualification), so have a bit of an idea. I do all the fun stuff but wasn't sure how to progress her onto a proper stroke or stroke position. We spend a lot of time around water (dh and I are both beach lifeguards) and the sooner she can swim unaided the better as far as I'm concerned, plus I can't wait to take her surfing! She'll probably hate it and want to do ballet!!

I shall try some of the things you suggest, and I think it's time to let some air out her armbands. What sort of buoyancy aids do you use?
