Can a wireless laptop be used on a hospital ward...

... says it all really. Have a wireless enabled laptop but only use it around the house what would I need to know/do in if it is possible to connect to the internet from a hospital bed?

only if the hospital had a wireless system running.

although, as with mobiles, even if they did i doubt you;d be allowed to use it in case it interfered with equipment

Nope. They wouldn't have a network running. Though there are plans to launch city wide networks, so maybe one day!

you can use a 3g card in some hospitalks. peter has a laptop and 3g card so he can go on the internet. he has just called me to say he has won the bidding on ebay items.

will u be on an open ward? peter has his own room, if he was on open ward, then i wouldnt take one in.

Our hospital has individual tellies with internet and games. Tried to hid from DH when he was in but he soon figured out he could buy a card and work away all day .
