??

We have Sky and phone with BT but am trying to economise and am thinking of changing. I think the ad says it is £30 a month.

Don't have BB as don't use the computer at home but it would just be a bonus to have it.

Package would have to have usual childrens guff and sport (yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwn).

We do but our experience has been that ntl have been sh*te and I really would never recommend them to anyone. Several friends have found the same and whatsmore, they were the only broadband provider that Which? would not recommend in a survey they did last year.

That is my worry, am quite happy with both Sky and BT but I think for both I am paying about £70 a month. Hmmmmmmm.

I wouldn't use NTL wither my parents have it and it preezes all the time

SpaGlorytoBlog · 03/01/2006 15:08

We have just given up on NTL and told them that we are leaving the country in order to get them to cancel us!
Internet was irritating, phone never got used but tv package was fine.
Decided that there is never anything to watch on tv anyway, so might as well go back to just freeview.

Freezes

We have ntl broadband and tv and phone - had no problems.

MuddlingThru · 03/01/2006 16:08

Used to have all 3 with NTL. Phone and broadband were fine. TV was ok - anything that said 'press the red button' for interactive stuff never worked.

However, if you ever need to contact them to change anything they are a NIGHTMARE. You will be on hold forever before someone answers, they will be unable to answer your query and will put you back on hold to speak to someone else, who will turn out to be the wrong person, so they will put you back on hold, ... 3 hours later you will think it is all sorted. You MUST check your subsequent bill as chances are they either haven't changed it or they have changed the wrong thing.

We have the three way package, and have been with NTL and various predecessor companies for about 10 yrs now. The digital TV isn't the best, but I have never had a major problem with either internet or phone, and we use the internet very heavily (dh is a web designer). The telephone service can indeed be very slow, but I have always found them pretty helpful (we have gone through 3 boxes now!) It costs about £50 a month, but it really isn't as good as Sky if you use the interactive stuff (NTL does do it now, but I think it is pretty limited in comparison)

NTL are absolutley shocking, I was with them for 1 year and will never ever go back to them. There customer service is laughable but thats only if you can ever get through to them. Thank God I only had the TV with them would hate to think how bad it would have been to have the phone and the computer playing up every day as well.

I dislike NTL cancelled them in October, but they pursuaded us to stay with them, giving me 6 month free BB service, so I stayed. Moving house at the end of the month and have no intention of taking them with me, have just given them notice. Customer Service rubbish and you have to wait 20 minutes to get to speak to anyone, have just spoken to 3 different people to cancel.

I had phone and broadband with NTL, the phone line was put in so badly, I went for weeks at a time without a landline, and this when I was 8 months pregnant. Never again....

HRHQueenOfQuelNoel · 03/01/2006 16:29

Broadband - had them for ages - fantastic hardly any problems.

Phone - no problems

TV - still quite new - no problems at all - we have freezing too - but it's not NTL - it's our TV !

Products - pretty good

Customer service SHIT. We had the guy who bought our house September 2004 round yesterday - he's the friend of a friend - with a letter from NTL - sent to our OLD address - containing all of DH's bank details ! They know our new address as

a) they've been sending us phone and broadband bills (well broadband free ATM as they screwed up and charged us double for quite some time - despite us poitning it out to them)

b) they came and installed the TV stuff at our house!

So, I think the concensus is......don't bother!

Thanks.

We're on NTL 3 for £30.00
Initally we were on individual packages with NTL and paying about £70
We signed up for the 3 for 30, only getting it after threatening to go elsewhere as they said they couldn't change the contract.
It does freeze on the odd occassion, but no more than my mums Sky goes 'offline' for a moment.
We pay £39 so that we get a few extra channels.
