if you recognise a MN from RL do you tell them?

just curious... I am sure that one of my friends lurks on MN as she has been saying odd things to me recently in RL - things that she could only know if she'd read my posts....

if I recognised someone on MN Im sure I would say something to them - no big deal.

I just feel that if my friend DOES lurk on MN, then why doesnt she say something? Just seems a bit sneaky

and its not even that Ive said things here that people in RL dont know - I have obviously confided in close friends & family

I would - as there could be things they would rather not say if they know that one of their RL acquaintances is reading it IYKWIM

There's only one person I've recognised as a mn in rl and I did tell her - mainly because I thought it was unfair not to let her know.

I think posting a picture of my kids on the profiles probably outed me [stupid emotion]

Like I said, its more the fact that Im pretty sure shes a lurker and hasnt said anything to me BUT has said things that I havent said to her.

maybe she'll read this & own up

in fact the pictures were the reason I thought she was a lurker....I put something like "3 musketeers" in the title and she sent me a Christmas card to "the 3 musketeers"

now I know there are now 3 of us with H gone, BUT it just seemed a little too much of a coincidence....

MrsM, do you think she may be trying to let you know gently that she has recognised you and is waiting for you to tell her whether she's right or not? I think I'd have to ask her - it would nag and nag at me and I'd have to know.

MrsMiggins · 03/01/2006 10:12

WWB you might be right...maybe I'll even recognise her MN name !!
I will ask her cos it is bugging me like you said....I guess Id rather she'd have just told me....
