Recyclers please help : where can I take 'in date' unwanted cans of food

Recently had my kitchen done which involved clearing out my cupboards and there was a fair bit of canned food which I won't ever eat but is still in date. Seems criminal to chuck it - where can I donate it?

Do Sainsbury's still have boxes for local homeless charities? Ours had a box where the tills were for donated tins. Or your local church might have a collection - worth ringing them to find out? Or try looking up homeless shelters in your area and drop them off there.

Thanks - found out that local church does indeed do this
