and then leave it and scrub it and wipe it all down and then the next day turn the oven on and fill your house with noxious awful gasses and HOW LONG DO YOU LEAVE IT ON FOR!!!! when can we turn it off...when it stops smelling????

enid, we've already (actually i say we...it was dh who was on his hands and knees with gloves on and scrubbing) done the oven cleaner thing... the oven is clean (ish) but we're trying to de smell it by it being on to no avail atm....should we just turn it off now?

I put a pan of water in til it boils, then simmer, it wseem to do the trick

Compo I've never cleaned mine either. It claims to be self cleaning which sounds ridiculous but who am I to argue with the engineers at Baumatic?
