So... are there any good reasons not to phone and wish a Happy Christmas?

Just wondered ...

As none of my PITA family have done so.

(yes, they are away on holiday (mum dad sister, brother wife and child) but, they do have phones there - ok, me and my mum don't get on.. but surely she could call to say Happy Christmas to her grandchildren?)

Anyone got any good excuses for them?

I cannot remember exactly - is this the same family where the sister sent the crate of wine ( I've got too much festive cheer at the moment )

Per haps they just don't want to rub your nose in it .... ie : here we all are (together) and there you are (not) IYKWIM

well remembered jingletips!!

Could be you are correct there (I am, after all, 'far too sensitive')
nevertheless, it would have been nice to wish the kids a Happy C and pretend to be interested in what Father Christmas brought etc.

dp and I both had a horrible tummy bug on Christmas day and spent the entire day dashing to the loo/asleep/feeling dreadful, and so for the first time didn't manage to phone anyone (although we were spending the day with most of our families!) - still haven't really. Maybe all your family were ill??!

nice thought dott.. give them the benefit etc....
but somehow I think not.

No doubt my mother will call when she has returned, and is looking for someone to listen to a monologue of their holiday.

I won't be in though.
