try wrapping ice cubes in a freezer bag and holding it on blue tact until it hardens then pick off

2 suggestions:

  1. get a large blob of fresh bluetack, warm it in your hands to make it as soft as possible and dab that at the bits in the carpet to see if it will pull it out

  2. use scissors to cut out any bits that won't come out with method 1)

OK "sticky stuff remover" (from lake land) or this stuff called "goo gone" which is essentially the same thing,

They both WILL get it out and the stuff from lakeland smells lovely and orangey!

Lakeland

I use lighter fuel (petrol, in the yellow can with a nozzle) to do the same job - works on price labels, chewing gum etc. Not sure if it will work on bluetac though because it's not the same stuff.
