Can the nurses at the hospital not tell you ???

I haven't a clue.

I think you can. I could be wrong.

followthestarlover · 23/12/2005 16:22

have you had it already? if you have had it you carry the virus in your body (which can later manifest intself as shingles) but that is in no way contagious or anything to anyone else.

if you have been around kids with chicken pox then you can be incubating it for up to 3 weeks before you get spots, so could pass it on

jalopy · 23/12/2005 19:24

If you have already had chicken pox, I believe the only way to possibly transmit it is if you have shingles.
If you've never had chicken pox then you could pass it on.

and before you ask

it is a myth that people with chicken pox give others shingles

but shingles can give someone chicken pox

Yes, you can carry chicken pox, just been doing it in school, though it is quite rare
