i've been wrapping for hours too. Sympathy! I keep stopping for a swig of wine though.

I wrapped some this afternoon and like you it seems to take forever. Didn't help much that I was using up some cheap wrapping paper that I had leftover from last xmas. It was so thin it kept splitting on the corners and I had to put extra tape on to seal it up.
I too thought about having a christmas drink with it but I guess 1pm would have been a bit early. I don't think dh would have been to impressed to come home from work and see his drunk dw snoring on the sofa while the kids run riot. Just stuck to a strong coffee to keep me going instead.

Ha ha I did all mine last week

Running away to hide now.

Pixiefish · 22/12/2005 00:12

I did mine as I was going- as soon as I had a boxful of pressies I wrapped them and put them on top of wardrobe- shelters as wrapping paper roll comes flying past her head

I just wrap mine as quckly as possible, doing even take care on the ends, if anyone says anything I say DS helped me.

After a memorable christmas Eve a few years ago, when I was wrapping presents until 4am, I also wrap as soon as I get them (and keep a list in case I forget what and who I've done!)

Although having said that, I've just (as in 10 minutes ago) downloaded some music onto the MP3 player I'm giving DH so I can now wrap that, and that will finally be it!

i bought my dad a lap tray - found it really useful for keeping away back pain cos you can do it all sat up straight fab invention. except it is going today for his birthday and i still have loads to do may have to buy myself one

veuveclicquot · 22/12/2005 10:53

1pm is definitely not too early for wine, especially not when wrapping. If I weren't in the middle of a fake pg scare I would have guzzled gallons by now (although it is 10pm here)

I'm knee deep in presents and avoiding the issue by mumsnetting.

I'm late because it was DDs birthday last weekend and have only just got over that.

dropinthemanger · 22/12/2005 11:17

This is the first year ever that I am absolutely hating wrapping presents-its really pissing me off!!!

I would deffo be on the wine by now if I didn't have to work tonight!!!

The spirit of Christmas has flown over my head in disgust!!

SpringCrimboTurkey · 22/12/2005 11:19

Get your present wrapper to do it for you . Only kidding, couldn't resist.
Sympathy, absolutely hate wrapping xmas pressies, you can tell on mine which were wrapped first as they hvae nicely written tags, bows and ribbons the later ones have scribbled tags are you are lucky if they are completely sealed!

laughinglil · 22/12/2005 11:24
