DS is almost 4, he loves singing and dancing, but he is a bit shy. I am thinking about enrolling him in the 'Early years' Stagecoach group next year. I am hoping it will build his confidence.
Any one with experiene of it?

My sister went to stagecoach for 10 years. She was very shy as a little girl and I think it helped. She loved the acting and singing but hated the dancing I think. Not many people in her group ever went on to do anything though. I only know of one boy who went onto star in Oliver in the West End.

it was the making of him

Thats good to know. Not looking for DS to develop a stage career, just to enjoy himself and learn not to be so self conscious. (like his mum)

Epiffany, How old was your DS when he started? Do many boys attend?

My dd attends Early Stages and I have deputised as an Early Stages teacher in the past. She is 4 and she loves it. However some children are not quite ready at that age. It is best to have a 2 week trial to see how they go.

The children concentrate on developing confidence more than anything. In dance it is based around learning to move in time and perform fun little dances with very simple steps. Singing focuses on actually getting them to have the confidence to sing out alongside learning how to stand correctly and to breathe. Drama is very teacher led and is designed to develop their imagination and confidence.

As you can tell, I'm a fan.
