... OMG, f**king brilliant!! Not been to a concert that good in years - absolutely fantastic!

We were standing and were really near teh front so had fab, fab view and they belted out all the old songs - highlights being The Reflex, Rio, Girls on Film, Save a Prayer and , at the end, Wild Boys.

So on a high!!!!

never did see what you saw in DD - Simon le Bon - yuk! and the others? oddballs!

and language timothy!

glad you enjoyed it!

ChunkerXmasCake · 19/12/2005 00:28

PMSL Jools - did you not like GDG's taste in music when she was a wee slip of a girl then?

santasweetdreamer · 19/12/2005 07:45

wow!

I went to see DD on the 80's and screamed myself hoarse! (sp?!).

Think they are still really good but the thing that amazes me is, how come they've all still got lots of hair when dh is losing his? Not bad at their age!!

hazellnut - you will LOVE it!! Really brilliant!

After Rio they had all that shiny cut paper falling over teh crowd - well, if you're in teh standing bit. For Wild Boys they had flames shooting up above these panels.

I never fancied Simon or any of DD really - wasn't massively into them really but do like the music - it was fab. Actually, to say I don't 'fancy' Simon le Bon he was very sexy it has to be said!

I'm off to see them with my BF on Thurs at Earls Court - can't wait! Saw them last year with DH (who can't stand them) as a birthday treat so it'll be great to dance and sing along this time without DH guffawing at me every 2 mins, cramping my style

notasheep · 19/12/2005 14:24

OMG I am very jealous, now having flashbacks, those were the days with ex boyfriend-

I even put a Duran Duran poster up in his bathroom!

HAZELLNUTsroastingonanopenfire · 19/12/2005 15:53

ooh can't wait now - thanks for the preview GG. mind you we are being old gits and in the seats so might not be as exciting.

Well helloooooo. God I love Simon Le Bon and Duran Duran... was on the radio recently talking about him and them... and I won Celebrity Stalker with my tales of cutting SLB's Dad's hedge and trying to grow it in my garden... pmsl..

Anyway, have seen them loads over the years, but have to say these latest concerts with them all back together are the absolute best. They are just pure class, and still the best band I have ever seen live. SLB is an entertainer through and through, and ooozes sex on stage.

Am seeing them Weds... can't bloody wait. Will be the 5th time in under 2 yrs.. although am seriously getting too old for all this...!!!

Won't have a voice on Thursday... and just hope he flings himself into the crowd my way...!!

EEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK !!!!

JESSnutsRoastinOnAnOpenFire · 20/12/2005 00:53

"Oooozes sex"... bleeuuuuugh! You are a SICK woman DF!

BudaBabeInAManger · 20/12/2005 05:43

Saw them here in Budapest in June. Was never a massive fan but the concert was really good.

Unfortunately we had seated tickets and were'nt allowed get up to dance! Bouncers kept making us sit down again!

Made sure to get standing tickets for Robbie!

christmaslovingbluealien · 20/12/2005 08:10

ha, my sister met him last week in birmingham. had a long conversation with him apparently.
ha!

podkin · 20/12/2005 08:12

oh dear - I used to wet my knickers at this lot when I was 16 - went to see them in their home town of Birmingham and had a fab time - my first concert.

I now realise they are a load of fat has beens trying to raise a bit of extra cash since they snorted the first lot up their noses...

(runs for the hills...)

p s- I used to have a friend in 6th form who dressed exactly like them, and was a stalker type...as far as I know she still is...sad

Duranfan · 20/12/2005 18:30

LMAO you can all mock... he's delish and VERY VERY sexy in real life. The photos do not do him justice!!

Have met him a number of times... he's a lovely bloke too...!!!

GORGEOUS, TALENTED AND SEX ON LEGS!!!!!

37 and still loving it....!!!

myturn · 20/12/2005 18:42

Oooh, VERY jealous GDG!! John Taylor was extremely dishy.... I remember my friend having a HUGE poster of him in her bedroom. Brings back many happy memories of striped naval jumpers, very large plastic earings and BIG hair....

Rudolphthebluenosedteddy · 20/12/2005 18:43

I am SO I loved Duran Duran, especially John Taylor! He was by far the sexiest IMO!

myturn · 20/12/2005 18:46

Yep, by far!! Just LOVED his hair... and that chiselled chin...

Why do I always get involved in conversations that involve gorgeous men and lots of drooling these days? I think an early mid-life crisis is on its way. Will enjoy the overdrive of hormones whilst it lasts...

Rudolphthebluenosedteddy · 20/12/2005 18:48

He still looks gorgeous now, doesn't he?
I used to have every bit of my wall covered with posters of him in the 80's!

myturn · 20/12/2005 18:49

Yep. Some things just get better with time! And aren't I glad!

Rudolphthebluenosedteddy · 20/12/2005 18:50

He was wasted on that Amanda De Cadnet, that's for sure!

myturn · 20/12/2005 18:51

Yep, especially as I was obviously SO RIGHT for him - he would have gone weak at the knees seeing me in my blue eyeliner and leggings.
