When I left junior school we had a whip round and bought our teacher a ring that was a watch, it had a hideous 'ruby' cover that you could open to see the time.......ghastly! It make her look like she had a huge biol on her finger! The poor , saintly, woman accepted it with a huge grin....what a wonderful woman she was!
