Help, what do you get girls aged 7 & 9 for about a fiver

Been invited to some family over xmas and it has been agreed we will do gifts for kids only, my dp's half sister has 2 girls 7 & 9, we are not close to them as they live in OZ and as only ever had boys or boys in family, I don't have a clue. I was thinking perhaps a barbie for the 7 yr old then I thought maybe too old at that age, I dont know, Help

Asda has some nice girls jewellary, the pink and cheap kind thats quite pretty.

stickers, felt pens,invisible ink drawing paper etc

travel ludo

hair ties/clips also stationary, pens etc

skoobies
disposable camera or cheapie reusable one
beads or jewellery making sets
other'making things' kits eg little bags, painted glass
bag clips/charms
