Would you give the presents or donate them to local childrens home?

Last year we managed to drop 2 families from our christmas present list (7 kids in all). My dh's oldest friend (although they dont speak that much) has 4 children. I cant remember whether we dropped the present buying last year for them though so Ive bought them each a set of pjs. So far we've not even had a card in the post so no indication as to whether we do presents or not anymore. Part of me is keen to carry on as it is dh's old chum from when they were toddlers and he is lovely however I feel his wife is trying to sever their link a little and this does feel like probably the last regular link with them. So, should I do the charitable thing and give them to local kids home or keep the link with his friend and send the gifts?

I do have other presents which I bought and kept in a drawer for extra pressies which I will donate to the kids home anywayt

So... you can't remember if you bought them presents last year (rather than agreeing not to do it in future or simply them not buying for you)... Um. Difficult! Hang onto the PJs til after Christmas and if you've not received anything then donate them to the children's home or similar. You can always claim the post is dreadful if you receive a parcel and have to post them on later.

I think we did buy presents but notice that birthday cards have been non existent this year too. Actually I managed to drop another friend and her 2 teenage dds last year too - Honestly my list was enormous!

It's good to start "dropping" though or it does get ridiculous. I'd say that you've given up sending them if birthday cards didn't arrive this year either. Just send a card?
