How much did she pay????

munz · 15/12/2005 22:36

the basic story is:

MIL ordered form these guys (www.mydv.co.uk) 2 weeks ago it said 7-10 delivery and it was 2 weeks ago, MIL is now devestated as a result cos the emails are bouncing back, the phones are all engaged/ u can't leave a message and she's just found this site..

DH is gonna get onto them tomorrow for the MIL she's like u cna't afford to loose £170, and her CC company have told her it will be approx 6 weeks b4 she has the money refunded - in other words poor BIL doesn't get a xmas pressie till then.

She only autherised £169 to go off of her card they've taken £175.15 apparently it's currency converstion - the company's 'based' in the UK but owned by someone in the USA.

munz · 15/12/2005 22:47

yes, DH is livid as is FIL. scarey thing is DH said he'd buy from that web site as it looks reputable. - and we do online shopping loads, they only do tesco.com and 1 babies r us transaction for us cos FIL doesn't like it.

my friend ordered one for them and it arrived ok.

munz · 16/12/2005 08:10

ooh did she FD - how long did it take to come? when did she order it?

DH is gonna try to sort it out for the MIL today, if not he's gonna try to get another one and we'll have to wait for her card to be refunded.

I don't think you can get the console only at the moment - just the Giga pack with a couple of games - usually the ones you don't want.

We got ours online from Game - it came in 2 days.

christmaslovingbluealien · 16/12/2005 08:31

i got the bundle pack from woolies. cost 2 something.
i never buy from online only shops, unless ive heard lots of good things about them from mnetters.

expatinscotland · 16/12/2005 08:31

I'm having my folks bring one over from the US when they come next week. It cost them $250USD.

munz · 16/12/2005 08:35

FIL won't let MIL spend more than £180 which is why she thought she was having a bargin. amazon/play have them for £179.99 was wondering if any one could get them cheaper. althou MIL is now v reluctant to shop online again - even wiht these after DH has told her both sites are safe. she thought this one was cos it was secure.

tbh she doesn't want her money back from this company she wants her PSP, (cos she's worried she won't get anotehr console b4 xmas) but another metter got one and it turned out to be japanese from that site.

My dh, bought one for himself last month from argos, they also sell them in kays catalouge.

snowfalls · 16/12/2005 11:58

argos £179.99

suedonim · 16/12/2005 17:16

I haven't bought one but noticed yesterday that our local HMV has them in stock for 169gbp.

Mum2OneAndBump · 16/12/2005 17:20

Just to make you aware i brought couple of presents of play.com and when they sent email to say items dispatched they said 5-7 days so you may not get it in time!

munz · 17/12/2005 09:45

well they've decided they're doing the charge back today - so at least they know they'll get their money back somewhere along the line. (even if it is in 6 weeks time )

I beleive they're off to game today to buy one over the counter. DH did tell them about argos as well FIL is now dead set no more online shopping apart from tesco.com (whom are hardly about to rip them off) FIL is still peed off but MIL/DH seem to have calmed down.

(they've agreed to put it on the CC which both of them are v against and didn't want to do) but it's better that then BIL having nothing to open on xmas day.
