Following on to the car write-off due to deer collision....
Where can I ge the best deals to buy (urgently) a car....
I thought maybe some of you had brilliant ideas/heard of great offers????

I don't know how much we will spend but i am aure we'd like to spend as little as possible i.e. more like £5000 than £10000
It does not have to be a big engine... we had a polo 1400 to give you an exam,ple... maye we'd like a bigger car though!

Anyone bought at car supermarket or auction or off the internet ????

Thank you!

We've done both - Car Supermarket , and internet ordering with Jamjar . Happy with both cars - but waiting time was definately less for the Car Supermarket one.

We bought a car from Motorpoint about 4 yrs ago - motorpoint.co.uk - based in Derby. Just drove up there picked one out and had 7 days to pay for it. Take a look at their website.
We paid £10k for a car with a list price of £15.5K, but that was in the days before UK dealers became more competitive.

Hey pupuce - I'm lookin for a new car too! And a bloke to boot (is this finally my moment??? no - probably not - I'm crap at mechanics!)

I've bin looking at the Chrysler PT Cruser - a bit MPVish but not as embarrassing to drive (apologies to all mpv owners!) - has anyone got one of these - I'd appreciate comments!

This site is good - www.drivethedeal.com - ultra cheap prices that you can take to local dealers and ask them to match.

Also - a must read is Jeremy Clarkson's guide to buying a new car on the top gear website.

Thoroughly recommend the honestjohn site. It gives a detailed descripion of likely faults in all recent cars. The description of our car was frighteningly accurate.Wish I'd read it before buying the car
