three year old dd - what to get her for Christmas?

I'm really having trouble thinking of something. She was three in September so it feels as though she only just had her birthday.

When I ask her she just says dolls (she has loads) and a Care Bear (just when I am building up a a Cuddle Toy Cull).

Any ideas? She had a dolls house for her birthday and my sister is getting her a leappad.

sorry, year!!

when dd was 3 last christmas she got a ballet dress and pink satin ballet shoes. She loved it and spend all Crimbo dancing about.
Anything to do with dressing up was and still is a hit..the good thing about being 3 is that you don't need expensive presents to be delighted.

dd2 is getting a barbie and me that I won from mumsnet and loads of little things (xylophone, small pack playmobil, dressing up stuff)

I was considering getting her a leappad but I'll wait and see how the money goes

otherwise I thought she would prefer lots of little things to open

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 07/12/2005 13:51

dd1 was 3 in October and got tons of stuff so we are just getting little things for her (Playdoh, books etc) to open.

Bike? Inlaws have bought her a bike, a Raleigh thing with streamers on the handles and an extra seat on the back to put teddy on. Think it was about £50, looks fab.

My DD was 3 years old in August, she is getting

  • 5 Original Polly Pocket sets from ebay (bargains at 99p each!). She plays with them at nursery so I figured they'd be a good cheap stocking filler type thing.

  • Sylvanian Families Lakeside Lodge House + furniture

  • Sylvanian Families Bear Family

  • Barbie & Magic of Pegasus DVD

  • ELC pink keyboard and stool

  • 5 Books

oh yes she is getting polly pocket from my mum and sylvanian families from MIL

and a pram from childminder

Thanks ladies. She loves dressing up - has lots of bits for that. No need of a bike quite yet - she is on love with barbie scooter she had for her birthday.

I may have to go the few small things route. She loves arty crafty stuff so might try and get her some stuff for that.

I was kind of fixated on getting her a 'main' present because it seems a bit unbalanced with ds. Not sure she'll notice though.

Which Polly Pocket set are you getting Enid?

I dont think she'll notice. dd1 is getting a cd player as her 'main present' but I can't believe dd2 will notice - of course dd1 might point it out

Mum has got her the polly pocket ice hotel - gawd knows what it is like but dd2 loves playing with dd1's polly pocket while dd1 is at school so I think she'll be pleased

i hate carebears...but dd (3 in a few weeks) has 2 and they are probably her most played with toy. She plays with them as if they are dolls...and wants the baby one for xmas or her birthday.

OhlittletownofEIDSVOLD · 08/12/2005 01:20

my dd1 is getting a fairy trike, some puzzles, some books, a magna doodle, a clam that opens out to a sandpit on one side and a paddling pool on the other - shared with her sister, some new pjs, some fisher price little people school bus and the garden party one.

what about books for the leap pad??

OhlittletownofEIDSVOLD · 08/12/2005 01:21

oh she is getting a cradle that doubles as a baby bath....
