Have had D&V since Saturday, and have had nothing solid since until tonight.
Got up this am to go to antenatal appointment, clinic running 1 hour late, spent that hour vomiting into the toilet at the clinic.
Got home, dp answered the door to someone who turned out to be serving me a summons for non payment of rent (it's his job to pay the rent)
Nipped to shop after blazing row about financial resposibility, came back to find 2 yo demolishing Christmas tree, and dp lying on floor crying in pain - he has seriously injured his back, bending down to put beef in the oven.
so, rang NHS direct. Then GP. Dp still immobile on floor. Gp writes prescription that needs to be picked up and collected in 1/2 hour - diazepam.
One problem - we don't have a car. So I pack snowsuited, hungry (5:15pm!) toddler into pushchair, and set off (22 weeks pregnant and faint from lack of food) for the 25 minute walk to the surgery, leaving dp on the floor with the phone and the Tv remote. Forgetting to put beef in the oven before I leave.
6:30 pm, I arrive back, Dp has managed to move 70cm to the sofa. Put beef in the oven. Dose Dp with diazepam. Occupy toddler with books and drawing. Give toddler and dp a cheese sandwich as both are starving. Berate toddler for jumping on daddy. Berate daddy for shouting at toddler. Berate toddler for trying to decorate Christmas tree with cheese sandwich and pencils.
Remove beef from oven, and realise I have forgotten to put potatoes in. Leave beef on plate in the kitchen.
7:45 pm. Toddler now hysterical. I hear a smash from the kitchen, caused by the cat endeavoring to mount the beef, and tipping entire plate onto the floor. Beef joint now covered in shards of pyrex. Scream at cat, scream at dp, scream at beef, and consider phoning mother to scream at her too for not bloody helping me. Scrub beef with nail brush under hot tap and serve anyway, reasoning toddler gets the middle, I will pick pyrex out if I find any and dp deserves it for putting me in such a bad mood.
Toddler throws beef on floor and demands yoghurt. Exhausted colditz wordlessly provides yoghurt, as she is past caring, strip washes toddler and puts him to bed.
Dp has been in a diazepam induced stupor since plate was removed from his lap.
I will be so glad when today is over. Make me go to bed at 10:30.
