am I the only person left who waits til it is at least the middle of December before even getting round to thinking about Christmas trees. ?????
I am the only person in my street today without the full reindeer light show/ electric santa on the roof /fairy light icicle adornment.

Putting off thinking about a tree and putting decs up -DS wasn't mobile last Xmas but this year is different. Dreading how many times I will have to remove him from vicinity of the tree, decorations etc.

IOTAnnenbaum · 06/12/2005 14:52

ours went up yesterds -- and teh lights on the house went up on Sunday

PickasillyChristmasName · 06/12/2005 14:52

The fact I have a 2 year old DS is definitely meaning I won't put it up too soon. Although middle of December is when I feel they should go up

twirlingaroundthechristmastree · 06/12/2005 14:52

DD's new pink tree went up 10 days ago!

suedonim · 06/12/2005 14:55

I'll put ours up on the w/end 17/18th, I expect. That's early for us! Mind you, I've yet to buy a tree so maybe there be won't be one at all!

sorrelsleighbells · 06/12/2005 14:58

i live right beside a xmas tree selling green grocers shop and the owner said he probably wouldn't have any left by the weekend of 17th decemeber.
if you put it up in November is it not just a dead needle less twig by the 25th Dec?

Our neighbours have clubbed together, unfortunately not with an actual club, and bought two inflatables for the front of their houses as well as the obligatory light show.

One is a Santa the other a Snowman, I have promised the cat a years supply of catnip if he stretches his claws on them.

They went up 22 November.

TwoIfBySanta · 06/12/2005 23:00

The outside decorations went up I should say.

Not the neighbours.

That is just wishful thinking. One of the families is on benefits so I think the others did all the buying but their "child" is 18!

I put my tree up on 1st of December. Ds (2.6) removed every last trace of chocolate from the tree on 2nd December. In hi remorse, he has been attempting to hang sandwiches and cheerios from it ever since

TwoIfBySanta · 06/12/2005 23:08

Beware the sneaky ones though Colditz. My dst took the chocolates off our tree last year but peeled the foil first so it didn't look wrong until I went to give them a treat and realised they were all gone!

They were 3 just after Christmas as well so this year they have chocolate advent calendars!

I did feel a bit Scrooge-like to be the last to put up the decos in this street today and we have no flashy outside lights or anything. Not even a Santa shimmying up the wall.

twinsetandpearls · 08/12/2005 00:03

My tree went up two weekends ago, I will wait until the twelfth before putting my lights up outside though and we don;t gte baby Jesus out until Christmas eve.
