If you were due to have a smear and your DH gave you a haircut

If you were due to have a smear and your DH gave you a haircut "down there" and it looked awful what would you do?

I was going to have a smear done on Monday and DH has just given me a haircut and now I look like a bald chicken I don't want to go now but he doesn't understand why I am annoyed and upset I have just had a mega temper tantrum at him. Would you go and apologise to the nurse for the WEIRD way you look sort of bald and hairy in patches or would you wait for it to grow?

i am well overdue a smear and embarrassment is keeping me away, but i think a few mins of embarrasment may mean a longer life if something unusuasl was discovered.

i keep telling myself that but still havent plucked up the courage (no pun intended)

my thoughts are nurse/doc prob wouldn't even bat an eyelid at your hair cut

embarressed · 04/12/2005 01:10

Thanks that is what I want to do but am already overdue but DH can't understand what the problem is. I can't think of a simular thing for him to have done apart from prostate. I have not been so angry with him for years

did you ask him to trim and he did too much?

embarressed · 04/12/2005 01:12

X posts champs but I don't want to be the subject of the nurses amusement I look like a fat hippo anyway with a strange haircut

Tan1959 · 04/12/2005 01:27

Pubic wig any good

ChampsOnIce · 04/12/2005 01:35

if it's gonna make you feel bad or stressed, wait til it grows back. shouldn't take long.

SpaGlorytoBlog · 04/12/2005 07:45

TBH the nurse won't know what it looked like before, so I would just grin and bare it (lol) but then I have a high embarrassment threshhold!

Springchicken · 04/12/2005 07:59

Im with custy, away with the lot. Will look much better.

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 04/12/2005 09:33

She won't be looking at your "hair cut" !!

santabops · 04/12/2005 09:51

I'd wait a month and then go!

TIREDofwrappingpressiesEMMA · 04/12/2005 09:52

im sure the nurse see's that many "peaches" that they wont be paying any attention whatsoever as to what style it is in. seriously.

SackAche · 04/12/2005 09:54

Why would you get your DH to trim your pubes??? I was going to get DH to do it when I was 9mths pg as I couldn't actually reach there anymore! But any other time...... er.... why couldn't you do it yourself?

confused

Nemoinapeartree · 04/12/2005 09:57

Aww doubt nurse will be paying attention. Although you have reminded me I need dh to do haircut as am being induced week on thurs...best make sure he only trims..lol

moondog · 04/12/2005 10:14

God I'm so thick..was puzzling at why the nurse would care about the hair on your head.

Blimey.....

(Is that you np???????)

ItllBeLonelymumThisChristmas · 04/12/2005 10:26

I'm having a smear done this week and stupidly wrote he word on my calendar. Ds1 saw it and asked what it meant! Why didn't I just write Dr or Appt?

Anyway, if I were you, I would postpone for a month. What harm will waiting one more month do and by that time, your hair will have regrown.

Pinotmum · 04/12/2005 10:33

They don't look anywhere but up the pipe thing anyway so I doubt they'd notice. I've got a smear due in 2 weeks (well overdue) and now I'm thinking do I have to have a "haircut".

can you tidy it up yourself? or go to a salon for a wax? i think if it were me i would just go for the smear anyway. there's no need to apologoise for the way it looks - nurses are professionals and anyway, i'm sure there won't be much she hasn't seen before.

go for the smear, your health is more important that a couple of mins of embarrassment.
