Decided you should have as much sex as you can - in theory anyway.

Kia · 20/10/2001 17:09

Is that me or you?!!!

I know someone who has left his partner of over 15 years as a result of re-evaluating his life and she wasn't in it.

I know we often say life's too short, but how many of us actually have the courage to do something like that?

Beg your pardon - it should have been "one" rather than "you". Actually, it should all be "I"!!!

Still just in theory though :-(

Oh - it didn't work!

You don't need the nose!

Good Morning to you. I'm new to Mumsnet and infact only found it when searching for Mark Warner holidays (which DH has told me we can't afford anyway, so atleast something useful has come from that otherwise pointless exercise). Anyway would just like to say it has already revolutionalised my life, it's nice chatting to intelligent people with a sense of humour (very important in this line of work). But back to the subject in hand, although being horrified and appalled by events on Sept 11 (and all that has since emerged) I haven't made any life changing decisions, but what I am trying to do is live for the day more and generally be a nicer person (ie. not shout at kids so much, though this isn't easy sometimes!)

Welcome! Wish I thought of that name, its one of my fav perfumes. Just read in the Times someone who said their motto has become 'better to die standing up than to live life on your knees' Had to be a man, didn't it! Oops sorry!

I've noticed people who are usually devil may care either markedly more so or markedly less so. I wonder what Christmas celebrations will be like this year, and if we can expect a baby boom some next summer?

I try to look at the bigger picture, but its not something you can live your life to on an hourly basis. Well, I can't, I can take stock every so often and thats what I'm doing at the moment.

Kia, that was naughty of the Times. I thought it was a woman, La Pasionaria, who said it during the Spanish Civil War (she was NOT on Franco's side). I can't say I'd like to be proved wrong as it is nice to reclaim these inspiring words for womankind, but maybe someone else knows for sure.
No life-enhancing decisions but travelling between Moorgate and London Bridge on the Northern Line every day while holding my breath has certainly changed my life.

Living life on your knees eh? Reminds me of a friend who, attending her first antenatal class with her husband, was asked to get on all fours to practice positions. "Isn't that how we got into this mess?" joked hubby. Sadly, they were not with like minded people and the joke went down like a lead balloon. Strangely, they are no longer in contact with anyone from the class...

kept my mouth shut when we had the auditors in this week, when I really wanted to scream - lifes not a *ucking piece of bloody paper. But of course it is - to quote billy connolly(?) you need a piece of paper when you're born, married and when you die - you can't even take a dump without one!!! Oh boy perhaps I should visit the under stress thread, it'd be safer! but who for?

I'm trying to keep my mobile phone charged up, after reading about those trapped people who phoned their families to tell them they loved them. At least they were able to say goodbye.

And if those men who overpowered the hijackers on the last plane hadn't had a working mobile, they would never have found out that the twin towers had already been bombed and that the hijack threats were definitely for real and that by sacrificing their lives, they could save hundreds more.
