I think they have a very fair point that we haven't seen the sort of dramatic reforms and rebalancing of power that is needed to address the causes of the banking/MPs' expenses/phone hacking crisis.

'feral elite' is a good term for it.

Nothing will come of this though as the 'important' people won't allow it.

what, with both the feral elite and onager's cynicism? It's got to be worth a try, though. So far the wrongdoers have got away with it and the system we all live under is pretty much unchanged. Bar quite a lot of tightening on MP's expenses. Even on here you can see people involved in the industries or organisations that have brought the world to its knees still being as arrogant as before and still insisting they can carry on as before.

Something has to be done to hold the powerful to account and replace systems that have let so many ordinary people down quite so disastrously. Maybe this will help to build some momentum.
