What it says in the title!

We have a major purchase coming up, and I want to compare reputations of possible makes/suppliers as part of the choosing process (not find out afterwards that "everyone" knew they were terrible!)

Does anyone have any recommendations for good places to look? Thank you!

have you done the research on moneysaving expert forums? and consumer reports and WHICH? are both good - depending what sort of stuff you want to buy. Electricals and computing get reams of column space, as do cars etc; it sort of depends on the popularity and pecking order of the product iyswim. If it's more household like carpet or fitted kitchen, then (sorry, family trade knowledge here) they each have their own 'governing' bodies and inspectorate, so if you'd like to give more idea of what sort of thing you're looking into then the pointers could be a bit more specific
