Can anyone advise me on buying my dd her first electric guitar?

She doesn't have an acoustic guitar, i.e. she's a complete beginner (apart from messing around on friends' guitars anyway).

Argos have a cheapo cheapo guitar/amp combo for less than a hundred quid. Would this be OK or should I be looking for a better quality guitar (second hand perhaps)?

I have suggested getting an acoustic first, but she insists she wants to start on an electric.

She's 14 btw

I have the same one in pink from cash converters that was 50 quid. Cash converters have some new ones in there for less than 100 pounds.

ds has one he was too lazy to play, I think it's alok a likey fender..most of them are made in China (not necessarily a bad thing)
