Snowsuits - what does your baby wear under theirs?

and do you put them in a footmuff as well as a snowsuit?

I'm worried about my 5 month old ds getting too hot or too cold, at the moment I'm just putting him in a vest and sleepsuit with no footmuff in his pushchair when we go out for walks.

And if you put them in a snowsuit to go out shopping, then you spend a couple of hours shopping in a heated shopping centre/go for coffee or whatever, do you take off their snowsuit so they don't get too hot?

Haven't got much of a clue about stuff like this I'm afraid so was wondering what other people are doing.

Aaargh [confused boogley eyed emotion]

I would say normal clothes and snowsuit

take the foot muff in case they're cold

but inside big stores, coffee, shopping centre etc take the snowsuit off

Vest, sleepsuit and snowsuit sounds fine to me in this cold weather (as long as the snowsuit has a hood).

As for shopping, I used a raincover to protect from wind and cold and just pulled it back when in shops. Just partly unzip the snowsuit(and take off hat/hood) if in a warm place for longish periods. Babies under 6 months need one more layer of clothing than adult, I think.

Thanks! Have been very lazy since I've been using snowsuit and not bothering with proper clothes, but would feel ashamed to have his sleepsuit on display, so didn't really want to take off the snowsuit

Will get a footmuff though for when it gets colder - he wouldn't get too hot then in snowsuit and insulated footmuff?

I have a little parka for ds - would it be too warm to have him wear this (as well as say a vest, jumper and jeans) under one of those thick cocoon type footmuffs do you think? Or do people generally have babies in a coat under a footmuff?

Sorry to be sooo boring

i only use snowsuit for walk. use coat when we go shopping, under snowsuit she wears sleepsuits or playsuit. tbh dd is 7m and she only wears sleepsuit playsuit during the day at home,i cant stand my little on in the denim jeans and cord outfit all day.i could be wrong but they dont look baby when they are too dressed up, i will be dressing her like this untill she totally mobile, at least can walk,

i agree with u Diva. I like my baby in all-in- one suits which are much more practical than separates. Babies aren't little for long so it seems a shame to dress them older than they are. I havent had to use dds snowsuit much at all this winter.I usually carry my dd in a sling which tends to keep her (& me!) v warm.
