i'd prob take him to the doctors as children get dehydrated very quickly. also they'll be able to advise you best on what to give him.

Best to starve for 24 hours tbh but tricky with a little one. Water to drink, nothing fatty/meaty/too rich. Dry cereal seemed popular with mine. plain rice is meant to be good.

Avoid anything containing fat or dairy - so offer dry cereal, toast, rice, carrots are good if he has an appetite. Lots of clear fluids, water, weak squash if needs be, and perhaps dioralyte if he is not really drinking much. 6 hours isn't that long for a toddler so wouldn't panic yet.

how is he now?

hayleylou · 25/11/2005 21:25

Had a few more bad nappies this afternoon. Gave him some rice for tea and he asked to go at bed at 6.45... temp seems to have come down. So we will see how he is in the morning. x
