London meetup - is anyone driving / training it to anywhere near New Cross?

I can't decide whether to drive or drink, whether to stay the night at my Mum's or whether to go home, therefore whether the kids will be at mine or hers, etc - keep changing my mind. Anyone local to New Cross who will be travelling there?

New Cross is in South East London, near Lewisham, Deptford, Nunhead, Brockley etc. Are you going to be leaving your car in central London then? Because I was thinking that if I drove, I'd park the car somewhere near New Cross station and then go into town by train, just because of traffic etc. Are you brave enough to drive right into central London?

yes not bothered at all, do it fairly frequently, will be driving back to. I'll be coming up the a22, from south of the river/croydon, sure i can make a detour if its not massively out of the way!

Parking is free after 6.30pm and I double checked that with a friend who works in Parking Enforcement in Westminster. I'm driving in from South London and I'm hoping to find a convenient side street to park in.

I know it's free, but I just wondered if there's very much of it.

Are NCP's free after 6.30pm or do they still charge?

I'd imagine they do. I'm counting on the fact that my friend didn't think I'd have a problem parking. Might have to try and get hold of him, I don't really want to be driving round in circles for two hours looking for a parking spot!
