can you give away second hand car seats? if so, where?

seems a waste to chuck it. its not fantastic or anything but i thought someone might be glad of it. we havent had a crash so its still safe and i have just decided we are never going to use it again. charity shops wont take them, anyone know anywhere? am up north btw, its not worth travelling to london to get rid of it

Go to www.freecycle.org and join your local group (you have to sign up with yahoo but it explains it all). Idea behind it is that its a way of avoiding landfill for things that still have some use left in them.
Anyway, you can post anything you want to give away for free on there or put out a "wanted" if theres anything you need. We've got rid of sofas etc that way and a friend passed on her car seats on there.
