Not for me, I can't stand the stuff . Which is why I have no idea where to start!

If I was looking for whiskey of a particular year as a gift....where could I go to find it?!

TIA

DC (I think it was he) gave out a briliant website for whiskeys - will see if I can find it.

lol @ whiskey not having vintages ..... just goes to show how little I know about it

Do bottles tend to labelled by the year they were, urm, started (?) or by the year they were bottled?

Many, many thanks! I checked out the DC link and unfortunately they don't seem to have anything of the year I'm looking for, but many thanks for that

WWB you could've told me you'd found it.....

BadgerBadger · 17/11/2005 11:41

So far I've found Glenglassaugh and Milburn of the correct age........

Does anyone have any opinions or recommendations of either of these? I know it's down to personal taste but an inkling as to whether I'm heading in a reasonable direction would be good

Thanks Pruni for your advice , I'll contact the retailers to check the labels!

ROFL just realised I've not even managed to spell whisky correctly...... now that I am, I wonder if google will be more effective

I'm not entirely sure Pruni, but thanks a million.

I'm tempted to look for an Irish as it would hold more significance but worried about narrowing my options further!

Pruni is correct.

what age are you looking for?

There's a brilliant whisky shop in Covent Garden - just checked on yell.com and think this is it. Just give them a call and tell them what you're after and let them do the hard work!

Cadenhead's Covent Garden Whisky Shop

thats the best idea Tabs. the internet can be a wild goose chase sometimes. just do it the old fashioned way... and get me a bottle of something while you're at it.

BadgerBadger · 17/11/2005 12:31

DC, something bottled in 1983 or 22 in maturity (?)

Thanks tabs! I'll give them a call later, leave it in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing

DC, absolutely not! Have you seen the price of this stuff?
