Well, so it is Will's baby!

Knew it would be.

What next, I wonder???

Had to be otherwise the story would be clear cut.

Thanks for that I miss it all the time but thought this would be the outcome. Should be an interesting few weeks.

This is going to show my ignorance I know, but how can a DNA test show the baby is Will's and not Ed's? I know their DNA would not be identical, but they are brothers and must be nearly the same genetically? Are these tests really that accurate?

Blandmum · 14/11/2005 20:03

No-one's DNA is identical to anyone elses except identical twins (who have the same DNA). While it is true that you have more in common (geneticaly) with your siblings, you still have lots of differences. And DNA tests can easily pick up the differences

If you need a tissue match, for example, you have a one in 4 chance of a match from siblings. Dh is matched to one of his three brothers

Oh I know!!! - was skulking in the kitchen yelling "don't talk!" if anyone came anywhere near me!

Isn't Will nasty? I'm glad Caroline witnessed that - it will even out the taking sides a bit. And Susan said she wished George was Ed's! What a turn-up!

LM, DNA in criminal cases is down to millions-to-one so just brothers must be very distinctive. If they were identical twins it might be iffy (hmb will know more about that). Shaping up for a super emotional brawl. Can't wait.

I'm also addicted to closets. Always want it clean and very organized. And i always make sure that it's closed properly for my baby's clothes.
