I'm a SAHM. One afternoon a week and one morning a week are completely child-free for me as my MIL helps me out then. I'm eleven weeks pregnant ATM and feeling a bit rubbish, even though it's not as severe as other people.

Today is the first day that I have a cleaner cleaning my house. It seemed a good idea at the time, but now I feel guilty and ashamed and I think I could do it myself really instead of sitting here MNetting while somebody else cleans my house.

Would anybody like to shout at me?

emkana if it feels right for you
go for it
dont feel guilty or ashamed

When I was a wahm, I had a weekly cleaner. Must admit to feeling a bit guilty whilst the cleaner was slogging away and I was to all intents and purposes lazing around. I found the solution was to go out for the duration (come back say 10 mins before they are due to finish) so I didn;t feel quite so bad about it.

I'd give my right arm (and a leg) to be able to pay someone to clean my house for me (not sure work and church would be impressed with a 2 limbed QoQ but that's a different matter).

No need to feel guilty, you have years of hard work as a mother ahead of you.

they say if SAHM were paid for all the work they dolooking after kids, the average mother wouldearn 30k a year.

Just think that you are doing good by providing someone with employment.

Well I'm sitting in my nice clean house now and the guilt has disappeared for now...
