Sorry to be so negative but it's just a big con. At least last year-prince and pauper-they sang to each other. They are wearing more or less the same dress and they do f..k all! Let's make a stand not to be roped into the same old.... Princess and Prince and Carriage...I have the last couple of year's worth!...tell me anyone who didn't spend Christmas morning with a screwdriver trying to unravel the carriage and horses?!....Let's rebel and expect a little more in the next couple of years!!!

Do you think the lack of response means you will be alone in your crusade

I have to admit we are buying 2 dolls and 2 princes But I am a sucker for getting what they ask for!!

zaphod · 12/11/2005 11:15

I hear what you are saying, our household is full of Power Ranger Megazords, that differ only slightly from year to year, not to mention the slight costume difference in the characters themselves. But guess what ds3 wants for Xmas this year?

Wallace · 12/11/2005 11:17

It is a big con....but I have already bought the barbie It was half price in Woolies when I bought the Pegasus DVD for a friend's dd.

sparklymieow · 12/11/2005 11:19

DD1's auntie has brought her the barbie, we are going to buy the horse. She wants it, so we will get it

magnolia1 · 12/11/2005 14:16

Mine want the big horse styling head thing but having twins means 1 each

So 2 dolls, 2 princes, 2 horses, but only 1 dvd

littlerach · 12/11/2005 14:27

well, I am not buying it because I won it in a MN comp.

NomDePlume · 12/11/2005 14:27

DD wants the Barbie Pegasus thing. Will prob just get her something Barbie Pegasus related that isn't going to spank my bank account for £20 (for a BARBIE doll ?! How do they get away with it ?)

NomDePlume · 12/11/2005 14:28

Probably the DVD, she'll get most use out of it and it isn't as much of a rip off as the rest of the stuff

littlerach · 12/11/2005 14:29

think it's reduced in Woolies or rgos at the moment, NDP.

NomDePlume · 12/11/2005 14:30

What, the doll or the DVD ?

nutcracker · 12/11/2005 14:31

I am getting the Pegasus head for Dd1 but not getting any dolls.

We brought loads of the Swam Lake stuff when it was that, and it was such a waste of money.

littlerach · 12/11/2005 14:32

the doll, and maybe the horse head thing that gives me the creeps.

NomDePlume · 12/11/2005 14:34

lol, rach . Thanks for the tip.

nutcracker · 12/11/2005 14:35

The horse head is reduced to £20 in a few places.

sarahinphuket · 12/11/2005 14:36

wow are the Pegasus Barbies REALLY 20 quid in the UK? They are less than a tenner over here in Thailand!!!!!!

Maybe I should start exporting them!

NomDePlume · 12/11/2005 14:37

£19.97 for the just the barbie doll in Tesco, sarah ! ludicrous

sarahinphuket · 12/11/2005 14:41

god that's terrible!

they are 729 baht here which is about 9.80 - which even so is a lot for a Barbie I think!!

NomDePlume · 12/11/2005 15:03

I bought DD a proper Barbie from Tesco recently, it was under £4, how can they justify that extra £16 ?!

pixel · 12/11/2005 18:59

Don't worry cutekids, I won't be buying Barbie products of any description. My dd would never forgive me!

I've been accused by my sister (doting auntie, longs to buy Barbies)of indoctrinating her at a young age because I never saw an advert without saying "oh no, it's Barbie, yuk!"

No tacky pink plastic in my house though

tamula · 12/11/2005 19:10

well, I see what you mean - as an adult, but just the slightest wee difference makes it new and a must have for children.

I beleive its consumerism gone mad, personally I dont have any plans whatsoever to buy my dd any of those tv advertised blasted tat. I certainly wont be buying a new doll of the same sort every year.

If its a must have or she threatens not to breathe unless i buy it It'll be one and one only.

I was raised on books, puzzles, house chores and physically playing out, having friends over etc.. If it was good enough for me...

Or am I just a mean ole boot???

bosscat · 12/11/2005 19:38

that advert is doing my nut in. is it kim wilde singing it? It's on at least 15 times an hour

WhizzzBangWhizzz · 12/11/2005 19:42

Its the magic of Pegasus....la la la la
