Calling London Mums - where in London should we move to from N16?

We live in Stoke Newington, in a small 2 bed flat with a small garden. we have an 18 month old and are desperate for more space. We'd love a 3 bed house or flat with a garden. It looks as though we have been totally priced out of the area, but the thought of leaving breaks my heart. We have strong roots in the ares, having been here for 10 years, with lots of friends with children locally, and my DS has a super childminder.

I'm wondering whether we should move to Clapton/South Tottenham (although the schools seem dreadful, are they really as bad as the OFSTED reports paint them?). Clapton is scruffy but seems to be getting better.

Or should we make the break and move to South London? We'd get more for our money and it seems like there are nice areas there. Which parts are good - I'm hearing nice things about Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park.

Anywhere in the Richmond Borough is fabulous for families. Lots of green space with Richmond Park & Bushy Park, on the River Thames, good transport links into London and the schools are all fab with great OFSTED reports. Not sure of your budget though?
