Personally I think they should be banned (or at least not allowed until the week before Christmas). Dread to think how much leccy is wasted on Christmas lights

He has them all over, round and in the windows, round the fence, door, hanging on the front of the house, statues on the grass, and huge santa/homer.

I don't mind them as such, just think it looks a bit OTT.

A house near my PILs has some sort of Xmas war going on. Every year, the decorations get bigger and bigger. Last year, there were ones that played tunes! Don't you wish you lived next door to that?

every time I see a house with OTT decs up I look across the road to see a house with a For Sale sign

We always do a tour of all the local houses that go "Christmas Crazy" as my kids call it, one of them even has a charity box and makes a tidy sum for a local charity.
