No signal on mobile - is the network down? (Vodafone)

Can't get a connection to the network. Where all the network info appears on the phone, there's just a blank box. It's never done that before, even when I've not been in the right area to get a signal, iykwim.

Is it me, or is it more general?

I'm In south Beds & the signal has been crap for 4 weeks. (normally full signal) They had to shut down a transmitter & don't know when they can replace it. We hadn't been told & DH & I are going to cancel our contracts on Monday if not sorted.

It is quite localised tho. So would depend where you are.

I had network busy on O2 this morning when trying to call.
