... it's one about swans floating serenely down the river whilst their legs paddle like mad underneath. I've never managed to track it down and can't remember where I've seen it!

I have a sneaky suspicion I've asked about it before...

Damn, had a look at your message in the hope that you might be looking for one of the handful of poems I know (not including things like "Why has a cow got four legs" as taught to the clan by Grandad Lio). Sounds like a goodie, I look forward to reading it when somebody comes up with the answer.

It's bugged me for years - I thought it was either Spike Milligan or A A Milne but have had no success finding it

the only Spike poem I know about Swans is

Down the stream the swans all glide
It's quite the cheapest way to ride
Their legs get wet
Their tummies wetter
I think after all
The bus is better

Yes, I think that's why I was convinced it was by Spike. I can visualise AA Milne type illustrations which is why I assumed it was AA Milne! Basically, I haven't a clue...
