I actually feel really good. My so called friend (only friend's with her because our ds's are the same age) truly p'd me off today and I told her so, it felt good as it cleared the air.

Nice hausfra, i love having time away from the family you will have a fab time! What sort of choir is it? Will you be singing in a show or something?

Sorry you are poorly spidermomma, its crap that your DH has to go away too - bad timing! Time for Cbeebies Try and get some early night with a warm drink and a good book You have four kids! I only have two and they are more than enough for me lol

Its lovely that your DD enjoys her thearpy group Evisvold, i did some work experience once at a resbite centre for young children with different special needs and i really enjoyed it, they had a sensory room which a lot of the kids enjoyed, i particually remember a little girl called hannah and wonder what she is doing now

Hiya Jabbawocky, We have been studying cognetic behaviour in psychology today and it was so intresting! I could spend all day talking about it but the way our thoughts are processed and the associations we make are facinating and it was a good lesson as you can attribute some of it to yourself, we had a debate about it and i love debating! i can be a bit bossy

jayzmummy, really sorry to hear about your leg. what a nightmare for you. thinking of you. QOQ, sorry about your business but you are right for having a go, I admire you. Spidermama, I was in a similar situation as you a year ago, lived in london, dh worked away, no family nearby, I became ill and it was so hard. I have since moved back up north and am near family now. I literally couldn't cope with it so am sending big internet hugs to you.

as for me and my day, I was thrilled to hear I had a new job with very family friendly law firm but have just had conversation with one of the partners to be told I will be working at possibly the roughest office in my city after xmas and warned that it will be a very hostile atmosphere from the other local solicitors. I would have done a scared emoticon if I could tbh. was scared enough about going back to work but am crapping myself now.

HuggyBear · 04/11/2005 14:43

BossCat, congratulations on your new job! I must be worrying knowing you will be working at a rough firm and i am trying to think of something encouraging to say lol - chances are you will be fine, no point worrying about something that hasnt happened yet and might not happen (hmmm that wasnt to encouraging but i tried lol)

aww - what's the matter kama???

And today I'm bl**dy cold - but happy I don't have to cook dinner - the tickets for hte firework display at DS1's school tonight includes the first hotdog - and I've got £5 in my back pocket in case they want more (also gave £5 - money from my paypal account that DH didn't know about ) to DH to buy himself a fish and chip supper for his dinner as I felt bad that he's working while we'll be enjoying ourselves.

sweetmonkey · 04/11/2005 16:00

awww sounds like a bit of a bummer.

We had a battle getting DH to be allowed into the country in the first place......didn't help that his appointment at the high commision in Harare was the week after the British Government had been accused of smuggling spying equipment into the country - and Britain (in return) had started to clamp down and be really horrible to people trying to get over here.

wasn't too long for us - we applied for it while still in Zimbabwe, had the interview in the Feb, got the passport stamped in the beginning of April. Then he had to reapply again after one year, just to prove he was still married to me and intended to stay here, and to check he hadn't been trying to claim benefits or anything.

We both had to go for his interview in Zim, and I was about 6 weeks pg, and very emotional, the bloke that did the interview was a complete git, and I ended up in tears. Saying things like "well your dad" (he was 'sponsoring' DH initially) "doesn't really earn enough to support you two and the baby", and "what sort of work do you think you could do" (to DH) (who was a teacher!) horrible, horrible man.

Hope it works out for your DH - must be awful, I remeber being terrified I'd have to come back to the UK 4 months pg, 5 months married without my DH (I had to leave Zim as my visa had expired, and they refused to extend it, and I was only allowed to stay until the april if I visited the immigration office every month to have it stamped).
