You can click on the little smiley face at the top of your email box, and it will give you a few.... not a vast amount though.

nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:32

I haven't got a little smilie face.

Hmmm... does it say anything about ticking a box for text editor or something?

nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:40

Erm don't think so, will have another look.

OP posts:
nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:44

Nope nothing.

Have looked all over but it doesn't mention emoticons anywhere.

OP posts:
LilacBump · 03/11/2005 18:46

can't you use them the old fashioned way and type them out?

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 18:47

In tools at the top of the new email - is rich text editor on or off?

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 18:48

Typing them out means that they are read like that at the other end too

nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:48

Erm not sure what you mean.

I can do these ;) :O but they look crap in the email and don't quite get my point across.

Finbar · 03/11/2005 18:49

Yep You need to acces the rich text editor thingy and I can't remeber how to do that -try via Options/Personal signature and there should be an on of tick box there.

nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:50

Ok thanks will look for that in a mo.

OP posts:
Finbar · 03/11/2005 18:52

have discovered it's via the TOols bar

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 18:53

where it says send, save draft etc

We will sort this, or I will go nuts

LilacBump · 03/11/2005 18:55

If your web browser is Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or later, you can use rich-text formatting in your messages. You can change the font style, color, and size, or choose a background color for your messages. From the rich-text formatting toolbar, you can also add emoticons (symbols that represent emotions) to your e-mail messages.

  1. Go to the Mail page.
  2. Click New to compose a new message.
  3. Click Tools, and then click Rich-Text Editor ON. (If the menu says Rich-Text Editor OFF, the Rich-Text Editor is already on.) When the Rich-Text Editor is on, a toolbar appears above the text area.
nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:57

If i click on tools all I have is dictionary, spell check and theasurus.

OP posts:
Finbar · 03/11/2005 18:57

that's waht I was trying to say!!

nutcracker · 03/11/2005 18:57

It doesn't say rich text editor anywhere.

OP posts:
LilacBump · 03/11/2005 18:58

so you're not using internet explorer?

flamesparrow · 03/11/2005 18:59

I don't know then
