Why do all my tops shrink when I tumble dry them??

Does anoyone have this problem? We are talking fairly decent quality fitted t-shirt type tops here.. not the really cheap rubbish which you expect to shrink. If it says you can tumble them on the label then they should maintain their shape surely!

It's always the length of them I lose. I am so fed up with all my tops suddenly becoming crop tops.. I do not want to bare my less that perfect-looking midriff.. and besides, it bloody cold..!

Can anyone advise re this rather boring and tiresome issue??

turn down the temp?
Stretch them lenghth ways before you put them in.
Or buy bigger!

But I have such a lot of laundry.. 3 loads a day.. and I can't be faffing about drying different things at different temps. And it might impinge upon my time spend on MN!!!!!

I havent noticed it too much..maybe yours just tumbles hot..is it new?

Nooo... it's not old.. but we rent because we do such a lot of washing/drying that nothing ever lasts long. My tops are always too short! I think I may have long body tho.. really! lol!

This happens with my stuff too.

I have started getting the next size up if i think it might shrink, and have also started hanging them up to dry instead of tumbling them.

I dont tumble them - just hang on airer and then finish them off on low for 10 minutes. Boring but keeps them long enough for a while!

don't tumble your tops
you'll be prolonging their life AND helping the planet!!

I hate too-short tops too - massive design fault, imo
when wil they learn that people PREFER having their lower backs warm and bellies out of sight!!!

Oh good not just me then! Yes I do hang them out all summer.. it's just this weather.. and there is so little space for a clothes horse.. but yes I will Make More Effort. I am such an incredibly lazy bitch of a housekeeper.. it's quite scary!!
