Can't delete my search history in Google Help!

You know how in Google, when you start to type in a word, all the previous searches come up to help you out? Well, I've looked up a few things that I don't necessarily want others to know about (health stuff, not porn! Not that porn is bad...) and I can't get the drop downs to GO AWAY. I have tried to delete my search history, my cookies, my history, cleared EVERYTHING but the Google memories are still there.

Can anyone think of something else to try?

Here you go:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

  1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
  2. Select "Internet Options" and the "Content" tab.
  3. Within the "Personal information" area, select "AutoComplete."
  4. Click on "Clear Forms." You can also un-check the "Forms" box in this window to keep this information from being stored in the future.
  5. Click "OK" to exit.

Thanks Vala,

Have tried all that - it is slightly different on this version of netscape, but have tried everything I can think of.

Am at a loss!

I don't know if this will work for you but did for me.
When you click on search bar highlight what you want to get rid of and press delete.

Thanks heavenis, but even that doesn't work!

netscape is an older version of firefox
if you go to Tools>Options>Privacy there should be an option called Saved Form Information.

Just click clear or unmark the box for Save Form Info

Ok - try this one:

CLEARING YOUR GOOGLE TOOLBAR HISTORY

To clear your search history from the drop-down text box on the Google Toolbar:

  1. Click on the Google logo on the Toolbar to access the drop-down menu.
  2. Select the "Clear Search History" option.

If you'd like to completely disable your Toolbar's search history, please click the "Options" button on your Toolbar and un-check the box next to "Drop-down search history."

You will need to close down your current browser window and go back in for it to take effect.

Hope this one is better for you -

Thanks for all the suggestions, I had honestly tried ALL those things.
Finally did a google search!

Found out that you can do it the following way (in case anyone else needs to!):

Type a letter, then all previous searches beginning with that letter drop down. Then, HOLD DOWN THE SHIFT KEY and use the down arrow to highlight whatever you want to delete. Then use the delete key!

It's the holding down the shift key that is the important bit.

Thanks again to everyone who gave advice
