We dyed dd's hair purple (yes, I know, stupid thing to do!) for her halloween parties using a wash in wash out dye... but it's not washing out very quickly!!! Have just discovered she's got her school pic next week...oops!!

Is there anything that gets it out quicker than just normal shampoo?

You can go to a hairdresser and they have a special chemical colour remover that'll do the job.

How many washes does it wash out in?

You can buy something that strips the hair fron a hairdressing supply shop but it's messy and is not good for the hair.

I would wash every day in Head & Shoulders/Vosene. Both of these are liek apint strippers anyway and will remove it quicker than other shampoos.

I am queen of hair disasters

Good luck!

I think it said washes out in 3-5 washes, which we've done but we've only got kids shampoo and a shampoo bar from lush so neither very strong!! Will have to try some vosene I think....

What a disaster!!!

Leave the shampoo on for as long as she can bear, then rinse and wash again.

You can buy a colour reducer product in Boots - think it is part of Daniel Galvin's range. Otherwise I have heard good things about the power of a soluble asprin mixed with shampoo and left on the head for a little while (10 minutes?).
Good luck!
