she thought the car door was wide open...

It's parked about 20 yards up the street (town centre)and yes the passenger door was wide open and the glove compartment open, our luminous harness had been pulled out and the invoices from the builders yard

The car seat was still in the back seat and a birthday present in a carrier bag in the boot

Golf balls on the floor

dp hasn't checked but the only thing that might have gone is the locking wheel nuts (but fingers crossed they are in with the jack)

They haven't tried to steal the car

and the door pocket was full of water so the door was left open half the night at least

weird or what

no one nicked the car seat or shut the door

They probably thought it was too good to be true! Perhaps a cop car waiting to trap them or something!

Just thank your lucky stars I guess!

harpsichordcarrier · 02/11/2005 07:46

weird... you would have thought someone would have shut the door wouldn't you?

Ponka · 02/11/2005 07:55

Is the tax disc still there? They sometimes take those.

SoupDragon · 02/11/2005 07:55

Why would anyone have shut the door? I certainly wouldn't on a car that had obviously been broken into.

SoupDragon · 02/11/2005 07:57

but thank goodness nothing was taken (bar the possibility of the wheelnuts).

zippitippitoes · 02/11/2005 08:02

I just thought if a car door was open half way across the pavement and obviously no one around then an upstanding citizen might have shut it

It wasn't actually broken into because a numbskull didn't lock it

Such a saddo ugly car the person who opened the door didn't even try to steal it ..I'm sure there must be a slogan for Fiat in there somewhere

I do hope they haven't got the wheel nuts though

Maybe just trying to find a log book to clone the vehicle ?

Or they thought, perchance, there were some pringles in the glovebox and they had the munchies ?

zippitippitoes · 02/11/2005 08:14

Clone the vehicle

It's A Fiat Doblo ROFL

hub2dee · 02/11/2005 08:27

LOL, zippi.

I'm sure there's at least one stolen Doblo out there. But then again, if you leave yours open and they don't even bother to take it, you never know, LOL.

Freckle · 02/11/2005 08:32

Our car was broken into the other week. It was on our driveway, hidden from the road by shrubs. They ripped out the stereo system, and in the process managed to wreck half the electrics. Thing is, they didn't even get the whole system, because they couldn't manage to get the cd changer out of the boot.

No attempt to steal the car either, but then again who'd want an N reg Galaxy??

zippitippitoes · 02/11/2005 08:35

What a bummer!

We only have a radio in it,

my last car was a subaru forester turbo

I haven't always had a car no one wants

maybe the thieves were hidden then

I think there might even be cctv on our street
