I wondered what the general consenus on MN is on this topic. I am f/t student but am currently managing not to use a childminder. The childminder ds did have last year although was very nice had a particularly not nice old child who would be mean to the little ones. Ds hence developed a dislike to childcare and not been since.

When my course is getting hectic I have a friend and mum who can help out now and then. Tbh I would prefer to be able to spend time in the home, making sure chores etc are done before I collect ds from school but I also want my identity which is part of my studies because i can work part time when qualified. But sometimes i wonder if the reason for seeking this 'identiy' is peer pressure and it sometimes feels like as women we are expected to fulfill so many different roles and this must impact on our children? I just enjoy beimg mum.

Off sick today - had that horrible d&v bug.. lost a bit of weight tho
