we have paddington, winnie the pooh, noddy (grrr). A lot of the ones on Amazon seem too old for him.
I want something gentle for putting on at 4.30 in the morning when he won't go back to sleep.... (see other thread)

thanks, I've just spent about an hour looking through amazon but they all seem to be forchildren a lot older. The paddington one read by Stephen Fry is perfect, I wish there were more of them!

Percy the Park Keeper?

Kipper, Spot, nursery rhymes

Check out the audio tapes at the library to give you a taste of what to buy him. My DS is 4 and likes the Tweenies tapes but perhaps a bit too lively for 4.30am!

My nearly 4 "The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me" - we've got it read by Hugh Laurie who is just brilliant

Tommy · 30/10/2005 19:20

that should be "My nearly 4 year old likes..." - sorry

katierocket · 30/10/2005 20:48

yes I don't want lively and also I need something that is not too short.

DD is 3.5yo and her favourite (non Princess) one is Cat in the Hat. It has 4 stories on, and DD listened to them non stop when we were driving round France this suummer. She knows Cat in the Hat by heart in places.

The Gruffalo series ones go down quite well with DS who is 4. You can get them in ELC.
