Have bought my mum the new Alan Bennett book, a mug that says gardener on (got my dad the head gardener mug!) and some gorgeous apple and watermelon sweets from Selfridges.

Last year we started doing "ChirsKinder" i.e drawing names and one adult buys for one adult. We all buys for kiddies. We put a cash limit on pressie. Worked very well except Mum has just admited that she didn't realise that it meant she would get one present!!!!

just waiting to hear who I have drawn this year!

We did ask wahwhatt people wanted and got a sub to Good Housekeeping mag which has been the BEST present!

My Mum will probably get a book/DVD/something similar.

My MIL is getting a digital camera that DH has sourced as she is going on a first class! Cruise soon and has done all our childcare for the last year+ for NO money, even taking kids out to cinema etc. This is a One-Off extravagance BTW.

Will probably get something else. I got my auntie some gorgeous bath stuff from Molten Brown.

I want to buy mine the film which is a bit like Koyaanisqatsi / Powaqqatsi but better. The trouble is I can're remember the name of it.

It has a long shot of an old monkey sitting thinking in a hot spring, fluffy chicks on a converyer belt and other stuff. It's fab.

We've all run out of ideas this year so we are just buying for the children and in the week before Christmas we are putting some money together for a big meal together and a donation to DEC.

ThomBat · 26/10/2005 21:42

Spidermama, that sound mad! Going to have to look that one up, I'm intrigued.

no idea... what do you buy for the woman who has everything she wants/needs and if she doesn't - she goes and buys it for herself. SHe hates perfume or any bathy, smelly stuff, is picky about the books she reads and usuallyg et tonnes of sweets and chocs from friends and work colleagues......has tonnes of family pics everywhere.

PrincessSmartyPants · 26/10/2005 21:54

We bought some tricky relatives presents from the Oxfam unwrapped catalogue last year, can't remember exaclty what think it was a wheelbarrow and seeds. They loved it and we felt v smug as no wrapping needed but feel this year we can't so the same thing
