Been away on hols so how did the house go?

OP posts:
FangAche · 24/10/2005 12:56

Slowly! Our house is now officially on Slater Hogg website! But with no photo as it hasn't stopped raining long enough!

The other house has an offer in on it unfortunately, but the guy hadn't accepted it yet so there is still hope! And if not there are the other 2 in that street too. If you want to go searching again (hint hint) I haven't noticed any more I like in that price range.

ninah · 24/10/2005 12:58

god I am SO slow just realised who you are FA! its hardly impenetrable is it lol wondered where you had gone and hoped all OK with you

FangAche · 24/10/2005 13:05

lol Ninah! I had to change it from Fangache to FangAche as nobody realised that it wasn't pronounced Fangash!

seb1 · 24/10/2005 14:15

What areas are you looking at again?

OP posts:
FangAche · 25/10/2005 09:32

I'm looking in:

Falkirk Town,
Larbert
Stenhousemuir
Lionthorn (where the last house you found is)

Might consider:

Polmont
Laurieston
Carronshore
New Carron Village

FangAche · 26/10/2005 12:25

I'VE GOT A VIEWER TOMORROW ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!

OMG!

Please people give me advice!!

gscrym · 26/10/2005 12:43

I'm in stenhousemuir and there's a three bed detached up across the road. It was bought last year for offers over £99950 so you may be looking at £120K upward.

There are bits of LArbert and stenhousemuir you want to stay well clear of. I'll keep an eye out in this area at what's on the go.

expatinscotland · 26/10/2005 12:50

Sarah Beeny suggests buying a couple of vanilla pods, covering them w/water, and placing them in an oven set to a low temperature in order to scent the home.

The guy from 'Selling Houses' suggests always letting the viewers enter a room first.

FangAche · 26/10/2005 12:53

Thanks Gscrym and Expat!

Gscrym - My upper budget is £150k.... but for that amount I'll be looking for a 4 bedroomed. We looked at a 3 bed semi in St'muir which is now £109k fixed price! I'm really tempted to put in an offer. Its in Kenmuir Dr.... do you know the area at all?

The viewer is bloke who works shifts.... so i'm making the massive assumption that he's single and not kids. So hopefully the naff kitchen won't phase him too much!

sweetkitty · 26/10/2005 12:56

fingers crossed fangy, declutter declutter declutter
try and pack as much of the kids clutter away as possible (hard I know)

FangAche · 26/10/2005 13:01

SK - If I do that I won't be able to open any of the cupboards to show him!!!!

Bozza · 26/10/2005 13:08

Stick it in the car! We had neighbours with 11 month old twins who were trying to sell. You could tell a viewer was about to arrive because the Dad would start piling high chairs, baby walkers, pushchairs, bouncy chairs, baby gyms etc into the Scenic and then go park it at the end of the road leaving just the Lexus on the drive.

FangAche · 26/10/2005 13:10

lol Bozza, thats a great idea!!! Definitely will put the highchair our in the car!

Here's my wee hoose for those who are nosy.

Fangaches Pad

FangAche · 26/10/2005 13:12

Sorry...wrong link!

Oh it won't let me post a link to the house, just to the Falkirk Slater Hogg Website!

Oh well.... if you're that way inclined do a search on a 2 bed, priced between 40k and 70k.

sweetkitty · 26/10/2005 13:15

I used to stuff things in the electric cupboard in the hall and also stuff things like the pram in the car.

I love having a loft to throw things up now (have always lived in flats before).

FangAche · 26/10/2005 14:32

AH THE LOFT!!! Its floored too! But I wanted to show viewers that.

Oh I'm SO excited and nervous.

FangAche · 26/10/2005 15:21

ANOTHER VIEWER!! Coming round on Sunday afternoon!!!

expatinscotland · 26/10/2005 15:45

Show 'em the loft, but box the clutter up and stack it in there neatly. It'll emphasise how much extra storage space there is!

Can you stash anything w/friends, relatives?

If there's extreme clutter, it could actually be worth it to put some in self-storage, but you might not need to and get a quick sale.

gscrym · 27/10/2005 09:33

I'll have a look round for Kenmuir drive, doesn't ring a bell. DH will know where it is though.

When we moved from our flat to where we are no, I put all the washing and ironing in my car and any other clutter went in DH's. The dog was dispatched to BIL round the corner.

The one that's up for sale near us is 3 Inveraray Drive. Driveway newly monoblocked. It's not on through an agent, if you want the number, CAT me and I'll get it for you.

gscrym · 27/10/2005 09:50

The one in Kenmure Place is just round the corner from me and it's a great area. There's also a really nice pub and chinese take-away minutes walk away.

Also staying fairly close is the lovely Mr Mackie whom you used to work beside.

FangAche · 27/10/2005 09:54

Now there's a name from the past gscrym!!!

Will have another look at it.

doormat · 27/10/2005 09:58

good luck in finding the perfect house fangache

seb1 · 27/10/2005 12:09
