story cds for 8 year old girl recommendations please

dd is in her own room now weve moved and likes listening to story cds any recomendations? she likes cutsy ones still like the owl that was scared of the dark

I get them from the library - DD is 6 and likes Pippi Longstocking, all the Dick King Smith stories, Princess Diaries, even Harry Potter.

Oooh, not heard from you for aaaaaaaages!!! I used to get loads from the library at that age (tapes though )... One of the few that my mum then went out and bought for us was Matilda (they need to be unabridged though) - I could quote most of the book!!!

Oooh, I loved Goggle-eyes too.

Barefoot Books do some lovely books with accompanying CDs - really gorgeous illustrations and not all nasty Disney etc.
