We are looking at buying one in case you didn't guess! They are thin on the ground though and dearer than other equivalents, wondering if it's worth the extra.

Thanks, polly . We rented a new Focus estate on holiday in Spain 2 years ago and were very pleased with that; I just have a bit of a thing for Toyota reliability etc, but the reviews say it is a bit cramped in the back, and the Focus certainly isn't. I bet Ford servicing and spares are cheaper too.

All I have found atm is a 51 reg one with no given mileage (so it will be high) for £3.5K, and a V reg 99 with 70K miles for £4K including a warranty - both a long way away too.

my dh had a 51 focus estate and we had no problems he sold it when he got his company car, have to say though i thought the boot was rather small compared to its predecessor, the escort estate, although still plenty big enough for most jobs/holidays etc.

i got a new shape 54 reg focus and have to say i prefer the styling on the older focus, much nicer and more familiar! iykwim?
